Recruitment:
The Center for Inclusive Excellence works in conjunction with various campus units such as admissions and the Upward Bound program to encourage the recruitment of a diverse student population. 

Retention:
The Center for Inclusive Excellence provides retention efforts through mentoring, coaching, and advising to any student who would like assistance. In addition, each of the resource centers in the Center for Inclusive Excellence works with entities like the Writing Center, Morris Libary, Exploratory Student Services, TRiO Student Support Services and academic units to promote the academic success of SIU students.  Walk ins are accepted but when possible please make an appointment to see the Black Resource Center Coordinator, Hispanic Resource Center Coordinator,  LGBTQ Resource Center Coordinator or the Women's Resource Center Coordinator as the need arises.
