What We Do:

The Black Resource Center, exists to foster students' educational experiences, encourage unity within the Black community, enhance the exploration of cultural and personal identities, and promote leadership and inclusive excellence.

Mission:

Our mission is to create safe, brave, and healing spaces to support each student of the African diaspora or Black student in becoming a more self-actualized human being and citizen of the world. We practice this by connecting current students to campus and local community resources as well as global resources when aligned such as Study Aboard Programs, Heritage Month Celebrations, and more.

We build with those resources by cocreating with our campus and local community our Black History Month Celebration & Programs, along with programs, services, and events offered continually throughout the year. We are here to be in service, to be of support, to guide your growth, and teach you how to hold space for yourself and be held in community in a harmonized, healthy, and easeful way.

Location:

The Black Resource Center is located in Student Services Building Room 140. Please stop by anytime or call us at 618-453-3470 to make an appointment to discuss the resources we provide.
